Medicals Requirements

Please ask the candidate to bring:

  • All medical aids ie. glasses, etc.
  • An audiologist report if the candidate uses hearing aids, as we are unable to do their audio in our clinic.
  • All candidates over 50 years old with a chronic medical condition, eg. diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol/blood pressure and taking regular medication, must bring a Health Summary, obtained from their regular GP less than 3 months old and a copy of their latest blood test reports

COLD/FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS

Candidate must not attend this appointment if they have any Respiratory/Covid-19 symptoms - e.g. cold, cough, flu, sore throat, or if the candidate has tested positive to Covid-19 in the previous 7 days.

 STANDARD AUDIO TESTING

New employees (or within three months of employment) are suggested to have 16 hours quiet time prior to their appointment, although this is not a requirement for Standard Audiometric Testing.

OCCUPATIONAL NOISE MANAGEMENT AUDIO TESTING

Please ensure you have booked your candidate for the correct Audiometric Test, and comply with the following:

Reference Audiometry: MUST be conducted after 16 hour quiet time.

Monitoring Audiometry: MUST be conducted mid-shift. Ensure appropriate arrangements are made for your candidate to attend their Audiometric Test within 30 minutes of leaving their workplace. A copy of the candidate’s previous Reference Audiometry must be sent to our clinic PRIOR to their appointment.

Non-compliance with the above may result in cancellation of your candidate’s audiometric component, and a non-attendance fee may be charged.

RESPIRATORY FIT TESTING

As per Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety - Facial hair must not impede with the respiration facial seal.

Please ensure that your candidate is clean shaven around the seal of the face mask. 

Should they present to us unsuitably shaven and are not willing to do so, the test will be cancelled, and a fee will apply.

NON ATTENDANCE/LATE CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING FEES

  • Please provide as much notice as possible for any changes to your booking.
  • Bookings cancelled within 24 hours of the first appointment time will have a  cancellation or non-attendance fee applied (except in exceptional circumstances).
  • Bookings rescheduled more than twice are now subject to a Rescheduling Fee.
